In an instant they were standing outside of the U.S. Congressional building in
the middle of a small crowd.
"Hey,
that's you up there on the podium," Juan said to Congressman Kucinich.
"So
it is. This is the press conference after I introduced the Department of Peace
Bill," Dennis whispered.
The crowd clapped and cheered.
"A
lot of people get really excited about this idea when they find out about it,"
Dennis said. "We just have to get more people to hear about it, so they can ask
their congressional representatives to support it. It'll take a lot of hard work,
but many important laws took time before they were passed."
"Like
the Thirteenth amendment that abolished slavery," Johnny suggested.
"Yes!"
Dennis exclaimed.
"And
the Nineteenth amendment," Cheyenne added. "It took women many years to win the
right to vote!"
The PeaceKids felt excited. Then they saw a familiar shape in the sky, and they
got even more excited.
